'You don't know the half of it'

This week we had to present our project to our peers and lecturers through the use of Prezi. Here is the link to our Prezi: link The presentation went well. We felt we got our point across clearly. 

Week 2 This week we discovered  we have to create a mock presentation. Third year students who had done the project last year came in to talk to us. They showed us their project and talked us through their process.  At the start of the week we were unsure of a theme, we knew we wanted to do something with beauty but that was a very vague topic and we weren't sure what route to go down. After some discussion w e decided to go with the theme "You don't know the half of it". We all talked about what possible mediums we wanted to do. After seeing a project done by a group of third years last year we decided we definitely wanted to do a website.  Isabel did research on the theme, she researched information on the effects of beauty brands on the environment, Eva made a mock up website, Nicole did a magazine cover and Esmee did a photo essay. This week we formed our group! Our Group members are Esmee, Eva, Isabel, Kira and Nicole. We were first given a talk by our lecturer's about the Project Topic. We began to brainstorm our ideas together and write them down. We discussed each other's individual concept boards to the topic.  We got to brainstorm our ideas with our group project supervisors. It was really interesting to hear everybody else's take on the topic.  We decided to discuss Nicole's topic of communication and how it has changed over time. We also liked Eva's idea of fashion.  After listening to our classmates idea's we decided that Nicole's idea of communication was fairly similar to the other team's projects. We wanted to do something completely different. We also found out that another team was playing off the topic of fashion. This made us reevaluate our ideas. Our Concept Board Hi, Welcome to our Project Blog. We are a group of five students in studying Creative Digital Media in the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown. This is our blog for our second year Group Project Assignment. The topic we were assigned to work with was 'Change' we explored many topics that we could take from this but we have decided on Beauty to be our main topic. Magazine Cover by Isabel Magazine Cover: This is a magazine cover that I made using Photoshop. I chose to choose one of our aspects, which was how beauty is represented in other cultures around the world. I chose an image that is very striking which I think perfectly suits the magazine. I think that the name of the magazine cover being 'Ethnic', works really well because you can clearly see straight away what our idea concept was. The colors that I chose are effective because they all complement the striking magazine cover photograph. I edited the photograph slightly in Photoshop which adds to the image as whole. Overall the design, text and image on the magazine cover all work in harmony together to showcase a very striking magazine cover response.
