Final Idea

The time came where we had to finalise our idea, we done a bit more experimentation with how we were going to present this project.

We created different masks to decide which was appropriate, we made a paper mâché mask, a cardboard one, a black one and a white one. From this we decided that none of these were going to work for us but another idea stemmed from this. We decided that we were going to invest in proper masks to achieve a more professional look, and instead of just writing peoples social masks on the outside of the face, we were also going to get candidates to write on the inside of the mask emotions that they really feel and wish to hide behind the mask.

We also finalised how we want these masks and the whole project to be presented, we want to get a room dedicated to the project. We decided that with the masks that we have got people to write their emotions on both sides we want these to hang from the ceiling of the room, so when you walk in you just see loads of hanging masks at different levels, this allows people to be able to walk around and read the masks as they please. As well as this we are also going to have a projection of flashing images of all the people who have a mask hanging, with the viewer not being able to know what masks represent its owner. We will also have audio projecting around the room, we are going to get voice recordings of the words that people have as their social masks. We are also going to experiment with different audio to have appropriate noises being played also to draw in the viewer.
